During the next 30-minutes, approximately 200 women in Georgia will be beaten by someone they love. Due to the rising cases of HIV and domestic violence among women, there is an urgency to identify and address unmet HIV prevention needs among female survivors of domestic violence.

Empowerment Resource Center (ERC) is continuing its efforts to help victims of domestic violence in Georgia by adding the RISE Intervention to its client programs and services.

What Is RISE?

RISE seeks to strengthen services to domestic violence survivors by offering a domestic violence awareness and assessment tools to our clients, and aims help reduce the HIV risk of women who experience domestic violence.

How Does RISE Benefit Survivors of Domestic Violence?

The integration of HIV prevention services and domestic violence awareness can help to decrease women's HIV risk and improve the health and wellness among women transitioning from intimate partner violence.

When Will ERC Conduct RISE Intervention Sessions?

ERC will implement the RISE Intervention in Spring 2009.
